We are also one of the few clinics within Ireland with a fully qualified surgeon performing all our transplants. We recognise, having worked and working in the field of general medicine, cosmetic surgery and plastic surgery in Ireland, USA and England, the necessity for a fully comprehensive clinic that deals with the psychological, surgical, cosmetic and medical aspect of hair loss. Our main focus is to do what we feel is appropriate for you as a patient first and foremost, whether this is a medical or surgical approach. As surgical option we use Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) using ultra refined follicular unit grafts. This is the most commonly used method of Hair Restoration surgery. It is now the treatment of choice used by all leading doctors and clinics worldwide and is the Gold Standard of Hair Transplantation. Our team produce ultra refined follicular unit grafts using stereoscopic microscopes. The FUE Hair Transplant procedure is also offered at our clinic and it has its place but in a limited number of cases. We will at consultation offer you a biased free introduction to both.

At the initial consultation you will be seen by one of the clinic Doctors, together you will discuss preferences and expectations and work out a treatment program appropriate to your specific needs, whether this is to be a medical or surgical hair loss treatment. From initial consultation to completed hair transplantation, you'll be attended to by professional, courteous, knowledgeable staff, whose sole aim is to provide you with the best care possible.

What Are The Reasons For Hair Loss?

The most common cause of male hair loss and female hair loss is inheritance from either or both parents. Certain hair follicles contain receptors sensitive to the hormone 'Dihydrotestosterone' (DHT). This hormone is a by-product of testosterone which surges at puberty. Fortunately, in the vast majority of cases those follicles at the back and sides of the head do not contain the receptor sensitive to DHT and therefore last a lifetime even when transplanted to a different area.
